Pupils are set up in groups based on the day of the week in which they were born, and asked to research the properties of the metal traditionally attributed to that day of the week.
They are asked to create and promote a new company on the industrial market, in order to produce and trade a set of products made mainly from
the metal given to each one of them.
To encourage an improved attendance, there are awarded daily bonuses for being present at the beginning of the activity. This can help both the growth of their company value and their individual share in the case of a joint ownership.
Each team creates a presentation of their ideas on the Metal Market. This experiment accompanies the presentation of some general aspects of the properties and groups of metals within the periodic table. It includes advertising for their company as future young entrepreneurs.
The aim is to help them understand that the use of metals in our daily life is a very important part of our technological advancements within our society.
