Space
The final frontier, the space race, the stories surrounding humans and space, have always facinated me.
In the project I explored the juxtaposition of the fragility of of man and the immense expanse of space. From our position of observation on planet earth, to the cocooned form of an astraunaut in a space suit, I’ve played with the imagery of space and exploration to try and depict this mysterious and beautful barren world of the stars, and how small we are in comparison to it.

Joan of Arc
I have always loved reading stories from history and female heroines. For this project, I chose to look at Joan of Arc, as she is a strong, independent woman. Intrigued by how this historic character lives on through her legacies, my reading of her life sat uncomfortably against the modern backdrop of our 21st-century experiences.
My project aims to depict both Joan and her historical significance whilst simultaneously bringing the modern part of Edinburgh into the mix.
